Save the Dream Initiative Implemented an HRM HIV Prevention Intervention (HPI), the project goal is to reduce the impact of HIV/AIDS on HRMs and their sexual partners by strengthening the local capacity to reach HRMs at the grassroots with key, high-quality HIV prevention and support services.
Since September 2018, Save the Dream Initiative have trained a total of 340 people in different areas. The people trained includes; 291 Male and 48 females, though still counting. Over 1,968 HRM have been reached with individual and/or small group level HIV preventive interventions that are based on evidence and /or meet the minimum standard required. STDI has reached 74 people living with HIV/AIDS (PLHIV) reached with a minimum package of prevention with PHDP interventions, we have reach 392 Number of Eligible Adults and Children provided with a minimum of one care service under the umbrella total care. 213 MSM have been provided with HIV related care excluding TB/HIV.
Save the Dream Initiative (STDI) is operating a youth friendly centre where young people, women and members of the sexual minorities have access to prevention and treatment information about HIV/AIDS, STIs, Malaria, sexual reproductive health and poverty reduction education, counseling and testing services without the fear of being stimatized and discriminated against. The centre has three units; Social Interactive Unit, Vocational unit and Health unit. The community centre is supported by volunteers and members of the community in providing fashion class, language classes, and catering school as a means of empowering youth, women and the most at risks population. The youth friendly centre is supported by the Chisman and Sons Limited a humanitarian body in Rivers State.
Save the Dream Initiative (STDI) has trained over 100 HRMs and their female sexual partners in different forms of skill acquisition from; Bead making, Rug making, Baking, Pastry, Fish Farming, Poultry, Piggery, Painting and interior decoration. This has greatly impacted the lives of our targets and show a positive change in their behaviors.
